Ronald Heinzman - Ocean County Department of Community Affairs

Ronald Heinzman heads the Ocean County Department of Consumer Affairs, managing consumer protection, business regulation, weights & measures, and public education in Ocean County, NJ. He works to balance business interests with consumer safety and prioritises fraud prevention, especially for seniors, through community outreach.

His presentation to Rotarians covered complaint investigations, enforcement of NJ consumer laws, accurate pricing at gas stations and retail markets, and fraud prevention. The audience showed particular interest in methods for protecting oneself and identifying unfair business practices.  This was an extremly interesting, informative and important presentation.

Thank you to Mr. Heinzman for an informative presentation.

John Cartalano, Acting Ocean County Clerk

Property and mortgage fraud are rapidly growing crimes in the United States. Scammers often record fraudulent documents, such as fake deeds, or file fake liens against property owners.

John Catalano, the Acting Ocean County Clerk, introduced us to the Ocean County Clerk’s  Property Alert Service helps protect against these threats by notifying you of any suspicious activity related to your property records.

This free service sends email alerts whenever a document is recorded either with your name or for a specific block and lot, offering an extra layer of security for property owners.

You can register for the Property Alert Service on the Ocean County Clerk’s website by navigating to the following path: Home → “Important Information” → Property Alert Service.

Thank you John!
